Mac Mini Power Guard

The Shimura Power Guard Mini is an all aluminum case built to protect the Mac mini. The Power Guard Mini comes in three models. The Standard, Moon Light, and Air Light type cases. The Standard case is completely sealed with slots for the optical drive and back ports. The Moon light case has additional slots to let the Apple logo show through. The Air Light case has slots to let the Apple logo show through. It also has slots going down the top sides of the case to allow for better Airport reception. All three models have a cool looking handle and "shock safety zones" inside the case to protect the Mac mini. Some of our translation may be wrong, but you get the general idea.
The Power Guard Mini is priced at 21,800 JPY [US $194.00].

That case is beautiful, but for that price I would buy a second mini or use the original box and fully protect the mini and offer a place to put the power supply.
Nice to see a company be brave and make a quality product, knowing it's is out of most peoples price range. I'm sure someone will come out with a cheap skin for the masses soon. |

The case is pretty cool, but it's way too expensive! It would never sell in the US. I wonder if the Japanese are really carrying around their Mac minis to the extent that they want this kind of protection. I find the Japanese culture to be very interesting and would love to visit there one day. |
