I think you need to suggest a few criteria for the purchasing decision before you'll get meaningful answers.
Wait for what? Better spec? There will be, and a better after that, etc. Price fall? Unlikely.
No one knows what the upgrade timetable is though I did read a general comment from an Apple employee to the effect that the MacBook will likely have the C2D in 6-8 months time. Only yuo know if your present need/desire is pressing enough. _________________ iMac intel CoreDuo 17" 1Gb

If you use Rosetta apps the C2D should make a difference. I briefly had an iMac CD before my C2D arrived. I noticed the difference in opening Office apps and flipping through PowerPoint slides. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

I need a MacBook for school work basically, my PC laptop crashes all the time and its not even a year old.
And a need a MacBook to do mainly iLife work, something a PC is left without. I've already got a iMac but upgrading the OS and iLife will make a big dent in my savings for a new MacBook. _________________ - MacBook Pro, 15inch, 2.4GHz, 2GB, 160GB HDD, SuperDrive. I Love this Mac!!!!

One point to note is that if you work in some iLife apps in Tiger or presumably Leopard then you won't be able to transfer them to the iMac to edit etc. Worth noting - are you running iLife 05 now? _________________ iMac intel CoreDuo 17" 1Gb

Nothing wrong with Panther but I would suggest getting hold of iLife 05 it was a useful upgrade. Pretty cheap on eBay. _________________ iMac intel CoreDuo 17" 1Gb
