| Now that the launch dates are just around the corner and the last minute announcements are just about history, which one are you going to buy? I'm going with the Wii. |

I'm going to get a PS3, but not around launch time. I'm not camping outside a store or paying for eBay. Plus I want them to iron out all the bugs first. _________________

Think I read that Sony is only going to have around 400,000 PS3s available at launch in the United States. Those lines are going to start early for the PS3. I can't even imagine what they are going to be selling for on eBay. |

I'm a big EA Sports guy, so a PS3 is likely in my future. _________________ -=iMav=-

Planning on getting the Wii sometime after the holiday season, and the PS3 after it comes down in price a little and any starting problems are fixed. Big dreams _________________ The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations.

I've never owned any kind of gaming machine (well, I had Pong in 1978 or whatever...), I have no games on my computer, and don't care a bit about gaming. The only arcade game I ever played was Galaga. I'm a pinball kind of guy.
But I have to admit that the Wii has me a bit interested.
EDIT: This was post #1313 for me. Hope that's not an omen.

Once you get past the Wii's unique controller (which happens to look like a total blast), will there be compelling mature based games for the platform? Nintendo still doesn't seem like they can break out of the kiddy stereotype. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

I can't even imagine what they are going to be selling for on eBay. | Probably in the $2,000-2,500 range. 400,000 units is not a lot. Since the PS2 was launched with 500,000 units. But even still, it is better than the Xbox 360 with 205,000 units on launch day. | mr_ben wrote: | | Weee wrote: | | Now that the launch dates are just around the corner .... |

Probably get the PS3 but not on launch date | This is going to sound mean. But I'm glad you guys have to wait. This guarantees a decent launch over here. Plus we will have a decent amount of units here by the time of launch there. | nanomano wrote: | | PS3, but I'm cheering for Wii to do better than the 360. | The funny thing is.. I usually consider Nintendo the Apple of the video game world. To come from pure dominance.. to a small market company that still provides innovative and clean designs with great first party software. _________________

I might pick up a PS3 down the road for its Blu-ray capabilities as much as for the great gaming.

I would almost like to see Apple buy Nintendo one day. The war would really be on then. |

A Wii for me, but not until April or May when money starts to cooperate.
Possibly even later if I decide to trade my MBP CD for a C2D model. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

The fact that the launch date is delayed for us is because of the stringant(sp?) safety laws, and numerous language codings for all the different countries.
The US ALWAYS get more units than "us" no matter what so even if the launch dates were the same us wouldn't be affected.
It's not like you have to ever wait the US (bar from Japan) always gets the products before the EU _________________ 1.42Ghz 1Gb upgrade Mini - loving it!1
