H-Squared Intros 3G Mini mount
Tuesday, September 26, 2006
Jeremy Hubbell, the Mac mini mount designer extraordinaire, has formed a new company called H-Squared and launched his third generation Mini mount today. "In less than a year, the Mini mount has gone from obscurity to the most widely-used mount product for the Mac mini. We're now proud to announce the third major revision to the Mini mount now available from H-Squared. We've refined the design, strengthened the mount, and revised the look to bring you the strongest, best-designed, yet deceptively simple version yet," writes Jeremy. The new 3G Mini mount is priced at $39.99 without backlighting and $54.99 with backlighting.

Why still more of the same, who is really really waiting for this kind of cr..., uhm items? A nice clear stand for the mini with a couple of shelves to keep the heat away of the external drive from the mini, maybe with a firewire hub, would be nice... _________________ ___________________Jim©

I'm sure there will be something that will come out to store other things. But as some of the manufacturers have said.... so many different accessories (in all sizes) make it hard to make standard shelving. Unless they make it easily adjustable.
Personally I still prefer aluminum over clear plastics.
For some reason it doesn't look as stable when mounted underneath a desk or table. With only two connection points under it. Hopefully a review will follow soon that can explain how snug the thing fits. Not to mention how secure the Mini is. _________________

| I mounted mine using some metal brackets that I covered with that rubber shelving stuff to reduce vibration. It's behind my desk so it's not visible. Still, I can't see dropping 50 bucks for a piece of plastic. |
