OK...
I've set up my mini on the same workgroup. I got into Windows PC put in the IP address of my mini (\\xxx.xxx.x.x\user name). I then get asked for a User name and password. I don't have one on my mini other than the one that is used for authenication when you want to install things.
I can see my Windows PC on my mini and actually copy files from it to my mini. The only reason I want to set my mini up on my Windows PC is so I can print on the printer connected to it.
Any thoughts or suggestions on how to get my mini to show up on my Windows PC?
Thanks. |

| Have you got Personal File Sharing on? The Mac should appear automatically in "My Network Places" after a few minutes. |

Try that username and password (the one you use to install things on the Mac)... If that's the only account you've setup, then that's the only account you'll have to use.
Personally, I've never been able to get my Windows machine to talk to my iBook, but I can get it to work the other way around. And honestly, I don't trust Windows to play nice and not mess anything up.
Why don't you just set your Windows PC to share the printer and connect to it with the mini? I've never done it, but doesn't Windows assign a shared printer an IP address? |
