Good evening.
I'm going to be installing Tiger on my Mini and am just wondering what option to choose. Many folks say archive and install, but I just want to be sure I pick the best one that will cause me the least hassle.
Thanks. |

| Tiger was the first Mac upgrade I ever installed. I picked the archive and install route because I was in a hurry and had no way to backup all my files. I didn't loose or have any files corrupted to the best of my knowledge, and my mini has been running smooth ever since. This process was nothing like installing Windows over Windows. |

I tar'ed up my home directory, threw it on a DVDRW and then did a clean install of Tiger. _________________ -=iMav=-

I backed up, and did an erase and install, like mavherzog.
Archive and install might work just fine for you. It's just a habit from my old Windows days where a clean install always worked better. |

I would recommend doing a clean install unless you are unable to back up your files. What are your concerns? _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini
