Well - my wife came through - A Mac Mini (early) for Father's Day and our Anniversary [8!] -- Yeah - she is awesome!

Apple Keyboard and mouse too.

Back to transfering the stuff from my nearly retired P4-2.8GHz PC.
[Go! iTunes! Go!]

Ok, only took half a day to install the various supporting applications and transfer about 20Gbs of data.

Original configuration:

G4 1.4/256M/80G/Combo

Already swapped the 256M DIMM for a 512M -- the case is easier to open then some of the videos show. I found that a piece of thin metal about 0.5 inches wide, and unlatching each of the "fingers" one by one makes for getting the lid open without any damage to the finish. Each finger is located between each hole on the air inlet on the bottom, passing the metal object to each of those locations starting with the end near the power button, I quickly released the lid from the base. Swaped the RAM and snapped it back togeter.

I am still amazed that this system makes NO noise, I used to be able to tell how hard my PC was working by the load on the fans and the powersupply [it hummed under load]. I find myself watching the Activity Monitor to make sure its working! Very Happy

Now, time to backup and upgrade to Tiger! Cool

Congrats on the new mini! I suggest you put a mirror under your mini's nose to see if he's still breathing! Laughing I'm still amazed with how quiet the mini is. I could never go back to a PC with a fan.
