Which is coolest? Black or White?

Although I swore I'd never buy one - as I hate the iTunes interface and rarely listen to music - I've got into podcasts and the easiest way to listen to them will be via an iPod.

I'll buy a refurb 30Gb video model but I can't decide which colour black or white - which would you choose?

I have an iMac and I think I'll buy the middle model MacBook so that'll be white too but I keep reading references to "if it's white it'll get stolen..." which makes me think I should buy the black one?!

Roughly how long will the battery last and is it user changeable now - I recall they weren't on earlier models.

Oh and as I'm very late to this particular product what are the must have accessories to make my iPod safe and enjoyable?

Because we do a lot outdoors, I prefer white, which absorbs a lot less heat from sunlight.

I say go for the black one, but that is probably becuse I have one! I think that either one is equally likely to get stolen, and the thing that will give you away as an ipod owner will be the uber-white headphones rather than the colour of the ipod itself!

To be honest, the black one will probably show up small scratches more than the white, so if that bothers you then you should probably get the white one.
But the black one does look cooler!!

Anyway my White Video iPod has arrived but it'll have to wait until evening before I get to play with it though I have opened it and it says Windows format - is that something I can change?

Now the next most important question - which case do you recommend and why?
