| Despite it being integrated, this graphics processor is far better than before, and it still packs a pretty good punch. |

According to people at the Biowae forums for Neverwinter Nights, there are no problems running NWN on the Intel Mac Mini, although the more memory the better, obviously.
Also, there is talk of a Universal Binary upgrade for NWN, though at this point Bioware aren't making any promises. They're "looking into it."
If tax returns are nice to me, I'll let you know how it runs once I get my Intel Mac Mini in a week or so. |

I managed to convert my pc copy of Neverwinter Nights to run on the Mac last night, thanks to a HOWTO on the Bioware forums.
Seems to run ok, if you keep the resolution and graphics settings to a reasonable level. I haven't played it enough to see what happens in a complicated level, or in a big battle, but it seems playable at first glance. |

I've got a Core Duo with 1 gig of ram.
I think a Core Solo should run the game about the same. It looks like NWN uses primarily one of the cores, with very little time going to the other, so I wouldn't think there's be much of a performance difference between the Solo and the Duo, unless you have other tasks running in the background.
The bottleneck is the integrated video.
But it seems to be playable, as long as you keep your expectations reasonable. |

so far what we got is:
Neverwinter Nights
come on people im sure more of you like to play games.
judging by this:
http://www.macworld.com/2006/03/firstlooks/minitome2/index2.php
these games also play well on the mini:
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 (whoopdie doo) 10-12fps (boarder line performance; not UB)
Spider Man 2 (UB)
Halo (if UB it would play well)
X-Plane (UB)
Quake III 1280x1024res-55fps, 1024x768-90fps (UB)
UT2004 640x480res up to 30fps (low settings good single player, multiplayer bad; UB)
maybe these games will play well on the INTEL mini:
LEGO STARWARS
Call of Duty
KOTOR
MoH AA

hi all,
call duty runs well on my core solo, 512Mb RAM, i did have to put most of the graphical settings down though, but when its universal binary it should play awesome.
civIII runs excellent on my mini.
ive got ut2004 and halo but i need some cracks and patches befor i can play them.
and i also dled minions of mirth and shadowbane, but my monitor doesnt support the defualt refresh rate for minions and i still need to dl some patches for shadowbane. _________________ Core Solo MacMini owner.

I don't really play games much anymore, but sometimes fire one of the oldies up for a level or two, just to let the images and music take me back to when my now grown children and I used to play them many years ago.
Most of the original 68000 Mac games aren't possible in OS-X on an Intel Mac without a "Classic" mode. We owned and played so many of these. I was really excited to see the first game we ever played on a Mac, Cap'n Magneto, is still available in PPC OS-X form and runs on an Intel Mac! Scarab of Ra is still around, but only for 68000.
We also played a number of 2nd generation (color) Mac games on the LC III at 640x480/256 colors. More of these are available that will run on an Intel Mac, and here are a few of my favorites I've acquired again:
Pac the Man X (PPC freeware) - McSebi
Thanks to Sebastian Wegner.
Maelstrom 3.0 (PPC freeware) - originally Ambrosia
Thanks to the author, Andrew Welch for GPLing it, and to Sam Lantinga for porting it to OS-X (and others).
Apeiron X (UB shareware) - Ambrosia
Thanks to Andrew Welch for this and other classic games still available.
Glypha III 1.1.2 (UB freeware)
Thanks to John Calhoun for writing it, Mark Pazolli for porting it to OS-X, and Kevin Wojniak for compiling it UB.
Glider Pro (PPC freeware) - originally Cassidy & Greene
Thanks to John Calhoun. Haven't checked it out yet.
Solarian II 1.1 (PPC shareware) - Stick Software, originally FTL
Thanks to Ben Haller. It runs SLOWLY under Rosetta. Gotta let him know.
OIDS.X (PPC shareware) - Xavagus Prime Software
Thanks to Kirk Baker. Runs great.
Descender (PPC shareware) - SloppyDisk Software
Thanks to Mark, Charlie, and Justin for one of the most polished versions of Tetris I've seen.
realMYST (PPC Commercial) - Amazon.com (originally Cyan/MacPlay)
Thanks to the Miller brothers. It's not the original Hypercard version, but as close as I can find for OS-X on Intel Macs.
Three of our favorites weren't ever ported to PPC OS-X, Jewelbox, Diamonds, and Frog Xing. The author of Jewelbox has been out of the Mac world, but is back now with a new Mini and working on a rerelease. I've tracked down one of the authors of Diamonds, as well as the team who originally did Frog Xing. I'll be contacting all of them. The world NEEDS a version of Frogger for the Intel Macs!
Just a note... when I say these are compatible, I mean they launch and I get through a level or two. There may be problems beyond where I've played, but I don't know of any. As far as realMYST goes, I have it on order, but the demo seemed to play okay. _________________ Moe

It's only one week that I own a Mini Intel and I've tried only one game:Halo...and is faster on my PowerBook.
My Mini is shipped with 1GB Ram but Halo is very very slow,it freeze to much time during the game.
This afternoon I've tried Halo on WinXP side with BootCamp and it's really fast. _________________ XIII REGIO ITALICA |

I've tried a few games too
Freedom Force - Doesn't work
Railraod Tycoon 3 - Works perfectly
Sim City 4 Deluxe - Works, but slowdown, hopefully Asypr might still go UB?
Civ 3 GOTY - Works perfectly, no slowdown as reported in Civ 3 Complete |
