Ok, well I had a black ipod video, and it was stolen right out from under me. Well anyways, I've finally stashed enough money for one, and I'm wondering if I should get the U2 edition?

Unless you are a big U2 fan, I probably wouldn't buy ANY iPod right now. I have a feeling that Apple is going to release some new models over the next few weeks/months. The full size iPod will probably get a bigger screen (perhaps a touch screen) for video, wireless connectivity, and more capacity. The nanos will more than likely get a boost in capacity and become video enabled.

g5g5 is right, I'd bet. If all you want is to listen to some music in the meantime, you could get a refurbished Shuffle to hold you over. They are $49 at the Apple Store.

Well then why would Apple introduce a new version of the ipod right now, knowing that people would want to run out and buy it? + If I got one now, I could always return it in the next few weeks if a new one comes out for little or no cost.

Well wouldn't it be possible to get one, and if they do come out with one in the next few months, switch them out and maybe pay a little bit.

Hey, someone else who has the (shitty) Dell Inspiron 5100. Cool.
