Hi Guys,
the first thing that i've done when i bought my Mini last week is to update the firmware at the last version.
Now i've decided to try bootcamp and to install Win on my Mini.
I've downloaded Boot Camp and installed it in the right way but when i try to run the application the message "you have to update the firmware..." comes to me.
If i try to run the SMC Firmware Update, the message is "you have the last firmware version for you Mac".
So,what have i do?!?What's wrong?
Thanks. _________________ XIII REGIO ITALICA |

This problem drove me nuts because of that bane of human nature: assumptions.
Once my fresh out of the box iMM was plugged into the net, it ran Software Update and, well, updated everything. This even included a firmware update, which was handled automagically.
Running Boot Camp, it gets the mysterious error "firmware needs updating", yet Software Update *just* updated the firmware and says there's no other updates.
The trick is that you have to know that a firmware update v1.01 exists, that it's not included in Software Update, and and that you must install it manually (including holding down the power button after the iMM shuts down to actually flash it).
This seems to trip alot of iMM owners up. I don't know why Apple doesn't include the 1.01 firmware in Software Update.
(Tangent gripe: with all the crap Apple pre-installs on an iMM, they manage to not include Xcode(+WebObjects), X11, or Boot Camp. ) _________________
