The rumored screen is pure 16:9 1280 x 720 and the alleged picture of it posted looks like that. That would be quite a departure from Apple's usual 16:10 aspect ratio, which would make this a more useful 1280 x 800. It's also different from the 15:9 1280 x 768 in some PC laptops.
I'm betting the low end model has the 1.5GHz Core Solo of the Mini, not 1.66 as said by this article, and that the low-end will have a 60GB HD vs 80GB and not have the SuperDrive. Unless, of course, Apple will be using the 1.66GHz Core Solo in Minis any time soon. _________________ Moe

Just a guess, but I think the Core Duo model is going to sell for around $1399-$1499. The Core Solo will probably go for around $1199. |

| My predictions point toward the MacBook becoming Apple's cheapest entry-level consumer notebook ever. |

I don't think Apple is going to announce the MacBooks without having a special event. I bet they end up having a special event for the MacBook and iPod in around two weeks. They better hurry up because they're missing out on the school buying season. Plus, I have some money burning a hole in my pocket! _________________ 2.4GHz MacBook Pro/4GB/320GB HD

If anything, I think the price will go up, much as the price of the Mini did. There's so much pent-up demand for this machine that they can tick the price up without affecting sales significantly.
And the new Minis are selling briskly, even with the increased price.
