Hi,

I am new to the Mac World and I am having problems understanding how to burn a DVD.

I have a USB 2.0 DVR with EYETV software and I can record a show to my hard drive with no problem. Where I get lost though is when I want to burn it to a DVDS to watch later downstairs on my big TV with a DVd player hooked up to it.

Is there a format I need to convert to before I burn the DVD? I know what your going to say and no I am unsure whether my DVD player can watch homemade DVD's but I also have a Dell desktop with a DVD player downstairs and it doesn't work there either.

Should I use Toast to burn the DVd; is that the problem?

Thanks for your help!

Pat

Yes by all means use Toast. I think Elgato TV 2.0 comes with Toast and has some features to dump your records right into it and burn them to DVD or CD. You can use iMovie if you want to split up your TV episodes into chapters on DVD.
