Too be honest, I have always wondered why we should repair permissions after every update. It seems that if this was a required step Apple would simply code this into every update and would be transparant to the user.
That said, if I have any issues after an update, I will be sure to fix permissions....
I think I am going to skip the "fix permissions" step for this update.... _________________ Vote for me, and your wildest dreams will come true.. - Pedro Sanchez, "Napoleon Dynamite" |

Obviously there are problems with some phones. I own a Sony Ericsson T630 and I got the question to erase everything on the phone's memory and reinstall contacts and calendar. Worked fine, no point. I'd file a bugreport as stated on the mentioned site and I guess within days there will be a fix. I would not be surprised as Apple is working on it as we speak, as this is pretty serious for people "living their digital lifestyle" Good Luck! _________________ ___________________Jim©

Notice that this 'update' is labelled as a 'delta' on the Official Apple page.
That's two notches down from a beta.
You have been warned...

Well, in the past (2 years ago or so) someone came up with this e-mail address and I did send Steve an personal e-mail about the European price of the Mac Mini, never heard anything on it actually, but it did not bounce either... _________________ ___________________Jim©

I noticed my G4 boots up alot quicker after the update and another bonus, the widgets take up less memory now, I think before it was something like 15.3Meg per widget regardless of what it did.
On the down side I'm having trouble with MS Entourage, it won't store my PW on the keychain anymore and if I open any e-mail with an attachment I get a message saying AFP connection status is looking up.... (the name of a certian mac that isn't networked with this one any more), and I get the meatball for about 60sec. _________________ Mac Mini G4 1.5GHz / 1GB / 80GB

OK.. I decided to dump entourage and set up Mail (hope to get more support)
it works fine but I still can't store my PW on the key chain. I tried typing it in under Mail/Preferences/Account Settngs/ and saving the changes but it dosen't do it.
I've fixed file premissions and restarted with no luck.
Did the update change some security setting?
Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated. _________________ Mac Mini G4 1.5GHz / 1GB / 80GB

Thank you James thunderbird works much better and it makes a nice companion to firefox that I have been using.
I still don't get why apples own Mail app won't use the key chain like it should. _________________ Mac Mini G4 1.5GHz / 1GB / 80GB

Thunderbird has also many extensions you might like. I have "display Mail user Extension" and "Mail tagger" but htere are many more...
Apart from that many theme's, I like Azerty and I'm using Phoenity, which also exists in Firefox... _________________ ___________________Jim©
