|
|
I'm a liitle perplexed that people are so excited by the fact that they can put Windows XP on their Mac? What was the point in me switching to Mac then? I thought OS X was all that and more.
Is this the beginning of the end for OS X?
Patrick
P.S. - I'd be more excited if I could put OS X on my Dell computers. |

What will happen..
John Doe like the look of macs so buys a G5 to put his winxp on. He puts on XP.. XP starts getting glitchy, infected with viruses etc. John Doe then says hmm I'll try this OSX partition then. He boots OSX and then thinks WOW I like this! I think this is a huge way to get windows people on osx not away from osx. It's going to be great |

Hmm! I hope your right.
I love both my 2006 and 2005 Mac Minis and plan on getting a Apple Laptop later this year. I've been using OS X for 3 years and love it. I never freeze or have viruses or see the blue screen of death. |

| The point is to accomodate potential switchers who need to run some software which is Win-only, but who would otherwise prefer to have a Mac. |

This is a brilliant move by Apple the more I think about it. No one is telling you that you have to install Windows. I mean, don't you think it's nice to have that option?
Good article!

Maybe this is just temporary leading up to the full use of windows apps and games on OSX? _________________

| Seriously, let the BSOD go. I have been running XP for twice as long as I've been running OS X and I have twice as many "grey" screens of death on mac os x. |

And what alternate universe are you living in
But for apple this was a great marketing strategy, I for one will never use this application ever, as I already have a PC to run all the apps I need for that, but those who need to switch platforms quickly and on the move (say a laptop) it will be great, instead of having two computers, one, sleek, sexy computer to run both Mac OSX and Win XP _________________ Mac Mini, 1.25 Ghz, 40Gb, 512, combo drive. XP on a Mac will be a gateway drug. Hook them on the mac then getting addicted to the good stuff. OS-X.

| I don't get it either. I'd much prefer to have each OS on it's own box or at least have the ability to run OS X on any hardware (I like Apple's stuff, but man is it pricey). |

YEP! It will quickly show people how much better OS-X is compared to windows. |

I switched from windows to osx 9months ago and have never seen any grey screen of death or crash. I use the hell out of my mini as well, maybe I'm just lucky.. |

What's the point?
The point is that I can now play City of Heroes on my Mac.
That's the point. |
