Check this out:
The public beta of Boot Camp is available immediately as a download at http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/ , and is preview software licensed for use on a trial basis for a limited time. The final version of Boot Camp will be available as a feature in the upcoming Mac OS X version 10.5 “Leopard.” Apple does not provide support for installing or running Boot Camp and does not sell or support Microsoft Windows software. Apple welcomes user feedback on Boot Camp at bootcamp@apple.com.

| Very very cool news even if the hacks have been out there for a while. As long as Apple release a machine with a decent GPU I can ditch my PC forever. |

Ok, it might be time to get off my ass and buy a new Mac. I feel like I'm falling behind. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Wow.. Never saw this one coming..
This is my favorite quote from the Apple site:
"EFI and BIOS
Macs use an ultra-modern industry standard technology called EFI to handle booting. Sadly, Windows XP, and even the upcoming Vista, are stuck in the 1980s with old-fashioned BIOS. But with Boot Camp, the Mac can operate smoothly in both centuries."
That is a classic....
I think this is a great move for Apple. Now the real test is getting people to stop using Windows entirely and completely switch to OS X..
I still struggle with the thought of logging into Windows over OS X on a perfectly good computer... _________________ Vote for me, and your wildest dreams will come true.. - Pedro Sanchez, "Napoleon Dynamite" |

I think this is wonderful news. I've had my mini for about 10 days, and I love it. Mine is a PPC, so I will have to wait until I get the Intel Mini.
Now, please tell me how I can install OS X on my Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop????

Too bad it won't do Win 2K Pro. That was really a very stable Windows build and required no "registration".

Actually. Win 2K Pro is the only copy of Windows I own. I bought it years ago (had to upgrade from Win 95 and there was no "upgrade" path which meant buying the full version) and now that I switched to a G4 Mini I got rid of my Windows box. I'd like to get some more use out of the $$$ I paid for that CD, once I buy a new Intel Mac that is.
