|
|
So I just got the new Mac Mini 1.66
I've spent the last 2 hours learning and setting up my mac mini and my imac so that it can "see" each others files.
Everything's working fine until I start my frontrow program on the Mac Mini.
the MacMini iTunes no longer "sees" my shared music folders from my iMac.
Can anyone help or offer any suggestions?
Thanks! _________________ iMac Fans Unite

Don't you just need to have iTunes running on both machines? _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

I thought essentially that Front Row would start iTunes in the background for playing music. I mean Front Row is only a control interface. When I use Front Row and exit the program, I usually have iTunes up and running, even if I didn't open it before Front Row. _________________

you actually have to do a lot to share files
1) You need to click on Personal File Sharing, Windows Sharing, itunes Sharing and something else under the Preferences>Sharing Option
2) Set up your Port Forwarding on your Router
3) Then click on sharing in iTunes

Starting from iTunes 6.0.4, computers on a same router can easily share music by enabling
iTunes > Preferences > Sharing > Share my music
My computers (iBook, powerbook) are working just fine. |

do you have the new update that makes it work on the older Front Row machines?
if not here is the download:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/frontrow121.html
any mac with front row shipped after the launch of the intel minis should have this updat installed already. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

Well it is not really a problem, I mean you can't communicate with others when you are sleeping. Plus there are applications to control other Macs other LAN, internet, etc. So there must be a way to remotely turn on your computer that has the music on it. _________________
