Rec'd my Mini this afternoon & first task was to move my 5500 song iTunes library over from my Windows PC. Songs imported okay, but lost my play lists (including purchased music), every item was checked & my carefully entered rating are gone!
Other than that I love the little guy & am exploring iPhoto & GarageBand. Awesome tools. |

| I hope you have backup copies of your purchased music! How did you move the songs over? Network /CD? |

| I lost the Purchased Music playlist, but thankfully not the music. I pulled everything over using my network. Took over an hour! |

| I moved mine over the local network. I never even thought the play lists would come over too, not that I have many play lists. |

How do I network my new Mac mini with the rest of my PCs? |

If you have a Windows home network go to Finder > Network and your network's name should show up automatically "give it a few seconds if it doesn't". Pick the folders you want to share and type in your password and you should be good to go. Oh yea make sure the Pc's are powered up that you want to share files with. _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

Physically, I just have both plugged into the same ethernet network. Then I did the Windows network thing in the System Preferences. Although I think I could see the windows boxes under network in the Finder before I did that. _________________ Mac mini powered up on 2-11-2005 |
