Shuffle battery issue

I got my IPod 512MB Shuffle last year. In January and lastly on Feb 20th I got an email from Apple stating that my one year warranty was going to expire (it did not give an exact date mysteriously). After ahile of not using it my girlfriend used it yesterday listening to some songs. But then today no computer in my home sees the Shuffle. The two PCs and the two Apples don't see it. I have reset it, ran the updater, upgraded iTunes, and tried every USB port.

The SHuffle has no lights on while plugge dinto the USB so I don't think it's even charging. Is the battery dead? Any ideas?

I would try resetting it again by the book, but it sounds like a dead battery.

Wow! I brought it to the Apple Store by me. I really expected them to try and fix it and then say well its no longer covered and I'd have to buy something new.

They tred getting it to work and couldn't. There solution?

They handed me a new one no charge since it was so close to my warranty experation.
