Apple Unveils New Mac Mini
Apple today unveiled the new Mac mini with the Intel Core Duo processor, delivering performance up to four times faster than its predecessor and providing even greater expansion in the same innovative and incredibly compact design. Starting at just $599, the Mac mini is the most affordable way to enjoy iLife '06, the next generation of Apple's award-winning suite of digital lifestyle applications, and features the Apple Remote and Front Row so you can play your music, enjoy your photo slideshows, watch your DVDs, iMovies, music videos and television shows from across the room.

I knew I should have waited when I got my Mini 3 months ago, but I couldn't resist the temptation then. _________________ Mac Mini

Nice.
But I thought the sub-$500 price point was a good marketing point...they should have an even lower model to advertise. Oh well. |

Never thought Apple would put an integrated video card into one of their computers. Integrated video is very-Windows PC esque. Why not just put a better ATI card in there?
I'm kinda bummed I couldn't resist the temptation a few months ago (just way too anxious to switch then) but just have to remember this Mini is very good for what I do - browse, IM, word processing, spreadsheets, itunes radio streams, download/listen to podcasts.
I doubt I am the only one in that boat. _________________ Mac Mini

| Quote: | Integrated Graphics
Mac mini features a graphics processor integrated into the system, and one that's no slouch, to boot. The Intel GMA950 graphics supports Tiger Core Graphics and the latest 3D games. It shares fast 667MHz memory with the Intel Core processor, for an incredible value proposition.

So wait, does that means we finally get Core Image? If so, I am happy... |

Just a thought, will the Intel mini support USB webcams?
Monitor and iSight aside this beats an iMac for me. |

Me neither, but I still can wait half a year and buy myself a MacMini with Leopard... _________________ ___________________Jim©

Wow! I was way off base with my guess of a 6th Gen Video iPod! I would love to put one of the 1.67 Core Duo Minis in my living room! But alas I have changed my signature to reflect the antiquated nature on my Mini!!! _________________ 13' Macbook 2.0ghz C2D w/2gb RAM and 120gb HD
