Instructions for ipod video

I was wondering who one would get amovie off a dvd to an ipod video
step by step indtructions please. also a list of software i will need. Thanks!

i use the program handbrake and it works great.

one thing it doesnt mention is that it takes about 15 mins from when the program shows that movies are 100% ripped to when its actually says done.

I use handbrake as well, but have run into a few movies that iTunes refused to push to my iPod.
I worked around it by first ripping with MactheRipper, then re-encoding with Handbrake.
A nice write-up was done here that got me on the right track.
