It should recognize it during the setup/registration process. If it doesn't go to System Preferences, if your new to the Mac it will be the light switch icon on the far right of the dock. Click it and go to Internet and Network and click Network. Make sure it's set to Automatic, Built-in Ethernet and Using DCHP or you can manually set settings if you want to set up a direct IP. If you still cannot get it work click the Assist Me at the bottom of the Network settings and go through it. If you still can't get it to work post back! _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Hi blazer,
Thanks for your help.
Unfortuntely it didn't work.
It won't work for usb, but ethernet is working at the moment.
As ive tried to explain my ethernet plays up (Faulty port on Cable modem).
If you could help me out that would be great.
Thanks. |

Did your modem come with OS X drivers? What brand is it? _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

USB is slower than Ethernet and way more buggy. Callup your ISP and tell them you need a new modem! Most of them will be glad to send you a new one. Adelphia send me a new one for free after mine broke. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
