|
|
| I have a base model mini (1.25Ghz, 40gb HD, ComboDrive, 512MB ram), and I am looking to use a combination of GarageKey midi controller, and Propellerhead's Reason music software. I was wondering if the mini will be able to accomidate Reason. Or will I need to upgrade the ram? |

| Any Program that requires any type of rendering weather it's sound, video or photos can be very memory intensive. Although the base Mini with the 256 mg of RAM could most likely do the job. I think that you would see it strugle and not perform as you would like. I would say spend the extra $50 or so and double the RAM. You won't regret it. |

| I've already doubled the ram to 512MB. Should I be good to go with 512MB or will 1GB be ideal? |

Since you already upgraded to 512MB and spent the money go ahead and play around with it and see how it works. You can always get a 1GB stick later. The good news is they appear to be getting less expensive every day. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

The Mini has no trouble handling Reason 2.5 (haven't tried 3.0 yet). It handles it better than it does GarageBand. And eventually I will upgrade to 1GB of ram. |

Cool! GarageBand 2.0 is bloated. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini
