I have noticed that my mini benefits from updating Java whenever an update becomes available. Without updating, Safari becomes very slow.

I have OSX 10.7.5 and Safari 6.1.6. Supposedly, with Java installed, I get a Java panel in Safari Preferences -> Security. However, I do not see such a panel.

Where can I disable/enable Java on my mini. I am certain Java is installed. I clicked "install" after downloading the ipadte and I did get a popup confirming Java had been installed.
