I bought a new mini about a month ago. My old mini has a bad fan. This mini is over 7 years old buy has run perfectly all that time. This in the first break down.

Two questions.
First can I do it myself? I found a fan on line for like $60.00. Second, is it even worth it. I figured I would still use it for printing and some lite browsing as it is out dated and I always find pages I can't view.

I don't want to just discard it. Are there any other suggestions some may have to get some more use from this machine that has been so great for so long?

Thank you
Joe

Question:

Core 2 duo or core duo

reason i ask is keeping a core 2 duo is worth it because you can then use snow leopard on it and use it to play classic powerpc games like the harry potter games black and white alien vs predator

You might find the videos from OWC help you understand the tear down process. I used them to replace the RAM in my MM.
