Yes, I just paid off my credit card and back in debt I go. I ordered the 1.83GHz with a 7,200 RPM Hard Disk. Now, I am a nervous wreck, did I do the right thing? Will it ever arrive? Will it arrive ok, yada, yada.... _________________ Mac Pro Quad 2.66GHz, PowerMac G5 2.3 GHz, iMac Core Duo 17", MacBook Pro 2GHz, MacBook Pro 2.2GHz, Mac mini Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz. Man, I know now that this will be my next Mac (hoefully within a year).. It is really loaded (gotta love the video card).. I am sure that there will be hacks to dual-boot this into Windows for gaming.... |
It can Dual-Boot into Windows, no hack required. |
Not until Vista I am afraid.... Check this out...

Yeah, and at the rate that Microsoft is going with Vista, that will not be until 2007.... _________________ Vote for me, and your wildest dreams will come true.. - Pedro Sanchez, "Napoleon Dynamite" |

You'll be all right! I always seem to worry about dead pixels. I'm a nervous wreck that first boot. _________________ 2.4GHz MacBook Pro/4GB/320GB HD

| Why hasn't Apple posted any information about battery life? They should have a general idea. |

I am starting to think that the battery life must not be very good since they seem to be keeping this information under wraps..
Jobs was touting power per watt so much during the Keynote, I was expecting him to come out and state that the Macbook Pro (not a big fan of the name) would last over six hours...
I think it will be decent, but maybe not as good as the previous generation... _________________ Vote for me, and your wildest dreams will come true.. - Pedro Sanchez, "Napoleon Dynamite" |

I would guess the battery life is 3-4 hours tops. |

I think it has more to do with all the battery related lawsuits with the iPod etc. Don't post a spec and then you cannot be held accountable to meet it. Apple is saying that the Macbook Pro should be very similar in battery life to the latest iteration of the Powerbook.
That's OK with me, I mostly use my machine plugged in somewhere anyway. _________________ Mac Pro Quad 2.66GHz, PowerMac G5 2.3 GHz, iMac Core Duo 17", MacBook Pro 2GHz, MacBook Pro 2.2GHz, Mac mini Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz. Multi-K9 Security System. No false alarms, just lots of sharp teeth.
