I have a mac mini 1.1 1.66ghz that I'm upgrading to 2.1 with t7600 and 4GB RAM.

Can I mount a 2.5" 1TB HDD or what is max HDD?

I think the most likely limit is only the physical THICKNESS - that is: only 9.5mm thick. Perhaps someone here can confirm?

Best person to confirm if another size (12.5 or 15mm) would fit is probably Phil. But standard 9.5 is a good number to stick with

1 TB hard drive in a 1.66 you might have a firmware limitation!!!!

you could try but it might just format the 1 TB into two 500 gig partitions instead

It is possible to upgrade the Mac Mini 2006 firmware to a more advanced 2007 version (just in case you want to upgrade to Lion).

if that does not work this one should work. it is 750gb 9.5 mm tall
