Well it was bound to happen sooner or later someone took apart adobe flash player and found out all though the version numbers change the hexadecimal code for the flash plugin doesn't change which means you can spoof flash player 11.7 on a powerpc mac

this is how.

1. you need a powerpc macintosh of course

2. the flash player plugin from this site

http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc

3. once downloaded you need to edit only 2 files inside the plugin right click the plugin and select show package contents.

Now how to change the file.

open up the contents folder and look for these two files

version.plist

and

info.plist

Now how this works is by changing the code inside these two files you can trick flash player 10.1 last version for powerpc into 11.7 by just changing the information inside the file lets take a look.

here is the original file modded for flash 11.5

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>CFBundleDevelopmentRegion</key>
<string>en_US</string>
<key>CFBundleExecutable</key>
<string>Flash Player</string>
<key>CFBundleGetInfoString</key>
<string>Adobe Flash Player 11.5 r502 Copyright (c) 1996-2010 Adobe Macromedia Software LLC. All rights reserved</string>
<key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
<string>com.macromedia.Flash Player.plugin</string>
<key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key>
<string>6.0</string>
<key>CFBundleName</key>
<string>Flash Player</string>
<key>CFBundlePackageType</key>
<string>BRPL</string>
<key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
<string>11.5.502.55</string>
<key>CFBundleSignature</key>
<string>MOSS</string>
<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
<string>11.5.502.55</string>
<key>LSHasLocalizedDisplayName</key>
<false/>
<key>WebPluginDescription</key>
<string>Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502</string>
<key>WebPluginMIMETypes</key>
<dict>
<key>application/futuresplash</key>
<dict>
<key>WebPluginExtensions</key>
<array>
<string>spl</string>
</array>
<key>WebPluginTypeDescription</key>
<string>FutureSplash Player</string>
</dict>
<key>application/x-shockwave-flash</key>
<dict>
<key>WebPluginExtensions</key>
<array>
<string>swf</string>
</array>
<key>WebPluginTypeDescription</key>
<string>Shockwave Flash</string>
</dict>
</dict>
<key>WebPluginName</key>
<string>Shockwave Flash</string>
</dict>
</plist>

Now this info.plist has been told its 11.5 but the plugin itself is still 10.1 its just telling the web browser it is the latest version when it is not the latest version so you can use flash again without being left out

Now this is the file info.plist modded with 11.7 latest version information.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>CFBundleDevelopmentRegion</key>
<string>en_US</string>
<key>CFBundleExecutable</key>
<string>Flash Player</string>
<key>CFBundleGetInfoString</key>
<string>Adobe Flash Player 11.7 r700 Copyright (c) 1996-2010 Adobe Macromedia Software LLC. All rights reserved</string>
<key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
<string>com.macromedia.Flash Player.plugin</string>
<key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key>
<string>6.0</string>
<key>CFBundleName</key>
<string>Flash Player</string>
<key>CFBundlePackageType</key>
<string>BRPL</string>
<key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
<string>11.7.700.169</string>
<key>CFBundleSignature</key>
<string>MOSS</string>
<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
<string>11.7.700.169</string>
<key>LSHasLocalizedDisplayName</key>
<false/>
<key>WebPluginDescription</key>
<string>Shockwave Flash 11.7 r700</string>
<key>WebPluginMIMETypes</key>
<dict>
<key>application/futuresplash</key>
<dict>
<key>WebPluginExtensions</key>
<array>
<string>spl</string>
</array>
<key>WebPluginTypeDescription</key>
<string>FutureSplash Player</string>
</dict>
<key>application/x-shockwave-flash</key>
<dict>
<key>WebPluginExtensions</key>
<array>
<string>swf</string>
</array>
<key>WebPluginTypeDescription</key>
<string>Shockwave Flash</string>
</dict>
</dict>
<key>WebPluginName</key>
<string>Shockwave Flash</string>
</dict>
</plist>

now its set for 11.7 now onto the next file

version.plist all you have to do is change where it says flash player version

like this file

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
<string>11.7.700.169</string>
<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
<string>11.7.700.169</string>
<key>ProjectName</key>
<string>FlashPlayer</string>
</dict>
</plist>

notice it says 11.7 not 10.5 or 10.1 even though it is still 10.1 flash player this lies and tells the computer it is not

for more information on this and the files you need to get started with go to
