Are there any rumors or anything about a release date? EyeTV 3 seems to be getting so long in the tooth.

It's a shame they don't/won't make an HD-capable DVB-T2 dongle, especially since over-the-air terrestrial HD broadcasts have been around here in Europe for a year or two now. Especially since Elgato is German!

Yeah, it seems like some of the technology in their tuners is lacking too. Perhaps we are moving well away from TV tuners as being popular and Elgato is struggling. I mean, it's really all about streaming content and digital downloads/rentals with HTPC boxes using Plex or XBMC these days. Then you have the Apple TV and Roku boxes, which seem to be getting really popular. So, is there really a big market for Elgato to capture anymore? I'm not really sure.

Well, good point, but until they bring fibre here, I am in a rural location stuck with 2 Mbps broadband.... and hence I'm not going to get HD over the net that way!

Over-the-aerial terrestrial TV (or satellite) are my only options.

I hate El Gato ... although I use eyetv 3. The fact that you have to sign up for tv guide service to be able to schedule recordings is ridiculous!

Well, not here in UK, anyway. Is there not a free-to-air TV guide broadcast along with the terrestrial programs where you are?

Equinux was doing some cool things with their Tube software and EPGs at one point, but I sort of moved on and lost track. I'm not sure what tuners are supported anymore either.
