Hi everyone,

Yesterday I tried to use Disk Warrior (which I had already used last year without hitch). I booted from my b/u external drive and launched DW. It said that it could not do its work because the target volume (my Mac HD) was still in use, and advised to close all open apps. But how can I close anything on a volume not booted? CMD Tab only shows the open volumes on the startup disk.

OSX 10.6.8, DW 4.0

Not a single answer so far!

I tried again today and got the same result, but I noted the error code: 2153, 4903.

I also tried to boot from the Disk Warrior 4.0 CD but pressing the C key only produced a blank screen.
Booting from the backup drive and going to System preferences > Startup Disk, and choosing the CD also produced a blank screen.

Please give me a clue as to what went wrong.

Bad optical drive? OS version on the DW disc not new enough to boot the computer?
