A lot of people are experiencing this even today. Lion is a good system never had one problem with it.

curious what trouble-shooting those with the daily Mt. Lion crashes have done...were these clean installs?

it is lousy to think of going to all the trouble of installing a new version of OS X with all that entails only to get crashing.

my heart goes out to you.

Are your crashes random screen lockups, requiring a hard reset ?

My iMac suffers from the same, it started with Snow Leopard at 10.6.3 and has continued through Lion and into ML. Where as Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard up to 10.6.2 my system was always rock solid.

After the 10.6.3 upgrade though I started to get the screen freeze problem. I spotted on mine that the computer was still running underneath the frozen screen, for example audio could still be heard, file copies continued etc. I guessed it was a graphics card driver problem and headed off in that direction looking for a fix.

For several years now I have been fixing mine by patching in my old 10.6.2 ATI Video drivers. I do this after every single os update.

I'm running 10.8.3 at the moment and its again rock solid. However when I updated from 10.8.2 the freezing returned until I patch in my old 10.6.2 drivers after which it became stable again.

What video card does your iMac have?
