My Mini is having a hard time running any video on You Tube -- it starts - and then stops -- and then does nothing -- no beach ball -- nothing

My Mini is a version 10.5.8 2Ghz Core 2 Duo with 1G memory and 667 Mhz SDRAM

It use to do fine but now it's just about stopped --

I went to the Activity Monitor and i'm just running Safari and my CPU is running over 50 just trying to run a video

Any thoughts ?
Thanks

I've been having issues with YouTube, but I figured it was the old version of Flash that I'm running on my G4 mini with 10.5.8.

Offhand, is your Flash version current?

Thanks
I'm not very good at this - and have no idea how to check if my Flash version is up to date

Can you tell me how to check it ?

Open any video in YouTube. Right-click in the playing area: menu pops up with Flash Player Version at the bottom. I believe the current version is 11.7.700.169...

I would go for more RAM...

You're using Safari, right?

What does it say when you go here:

Perhaps they are right you do not have enough memory to view videos on You Tube.Mayve you can contact Google which is part of You tube and present them the problem to them. They can maybe give you an answer.

I think 10.5 will not have access to the most current version of Flash.

10.6 for certain. Maybe 10.7, but I'd stay with 10.6. Possibly with more hacking, 10.8 might be do able.

You really should add more memory if you are going to upgrade the OS.

You have a good mini, it just needs memory.

You could also try running Onyx and having do all the maintenance scripts.

If you have an external drive, your 120 should be fine. A faster drive would also speed up the mini, since OS X is a disc based OS.

My local Apple store said they would not work on it
