+2. I haven't seen all of the nominated movies, but I'm betting that none of them are as good as Argo. The last quarter of the movie really had my attention. Unlike anything that I've seen in a while. |

The Master. Good acting, but it's sort of strange and boring. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Robot and Frank. I'm not a huge fan of Frank Langella, but this one surprised me. I would definitely give it a rental if you haven't seen it already.

That is a GREAT HBO original movie. I would have voted for Kevin Bacon to receive an Oscar for that movie if it had been eligible. He was that good. I also thought the movie was very powerful. I sure teared up more than once. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

He should have, sad they don't give awards when they matter. It wasn't over acted nor over dramatized, a lot of very subtle but moving scenes that were very heartfelt. If you had a dry eye after watching that moving, well I don't know what to say. What I appreciated is that it wasn't a pro-war nor anti-war moving, it was about the death of a young man, it was about dignity, respect and appreciation. My 18 year old son did all he could to hold back his tears, two of his best friends are going into the Army and another into the Navy, it really struck home for him. _________________ iMac 24" 2.4 GHz 4GB | Logitech S530 | Z-2300 speakers | NewerTech Guardian MAXimus RAID

Taking Chance is a fantastic movie. They say it's one of the best war movies of all time, without having a single shot fired. I would have to agree with that comment. I know the wife and I were so emotional at the end. And I think that's when movies are at their best. When they spark that kind of emotion and connect with you. I sure know that scene where the other soldier says who he is transporting gave me the biggest lump in my throat. Talk about a true band of brothers. What honor and courage! _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

| Oz The Great and Powerful. it was just OK. I can't really recommend it. Maybe the kids might enjoy it and the 3D effects but the story drags and James Franco just doesn't sell the role. |

Watched The Hobbit at work today.
In one word, I would say 'tedious.'

Yeah, I thought it was a snore feast. I could hardly make it. That said, it was late after a long day.
I have This is 40 on tap for tonight. I could use a good laugh or two after this week. |
