video "crease" on HDTV from mac mini

Using DVI to go from Mac Mini going to Viewsonic 2750w (27" widescreen lcd).

At random, a horizontal video artifact that looks like a line moves up the screen. This happens when I'm doing anything, dragging windows, watching a movie, but only sometimes. If it happens when I have control over what is on the screen, I can stop the animation on the screen, and the line/crease will pause, and then continue on up when I continue dragging. It is horizontal and moves from the bottom to the top.

It hasn't bother me enough to investigate further, like whether switching to VGA input on the screen will take care of it. Just wondering if anyone here has encountered anything like this.

I have the 2750w and haven't noticed anything like you are describing. My only disappointments have been the 2750w's viewing angles and lousy remote. Putting this issue aside, how do you like yours? Where did you buy it from? I got mine from Newegg.

I have noticed it on the 2750, like a little horizontal tear or Ripple, does it on me from the DVD Player and from Quicktime doing Divx files. I'm not sure if its the set or the mini doing it. My guess some sort of timing issue. The 2750 is good for the money, it works well for browsing the web and general work , looks ok until you get another LCD. I bought a Samsung for my living room and the Black levels are so much better, the blacks on the Viewsonic are definately grey. But it's ok for a PC Monitor

I like mine well enough. It's a drastic improvement over my 8 year old CRT TV.

Some movies just look horrible on it. Anything dark definitely makes you aware of the lack of black level range.

Everything else from gaming consoles to the mac mini look fine.

And you can't beat the price. I also got mine from newegg. I would have bought from zip zoom fly, but I also needed a DVI cable, and they didn't have any in stock.

Yeah Brightly Lit movies look awesome, but your right, try watching X files or really any recent TV shows, since many are lit so darkly they look really bad.
