I'm guessing his point is that Apple uses various suppliers for RAM. You made an out of the blue comment that Apple uses Samsung and Phil pointed out all of the suppliers he has come across. Why would he joke about Mushkin? I've seen it in a few of my machines, Samsung in several and Hynix in one or two. |

The name sounded funny that is all.Apple uses various brands and charges to much for their ram which is absurd in my opinion compared to 3rd party brands. |

Apple charges what people will pay for it. It seems outrageous, but to pass along warranties, quality, etc. most people charge a premium for relatively inexpensive parts. If a consumer doesn't feel it is appropriate they have the freedom to go to other providers. Apple respects this.

I've had customer who were on insistent that they get the RAM preloaded and installed at the factory, even though I offered them a more affordable alternative. |

At least you gave them a honest option. That is a good salesperson in my opinion. Not forcing them with something always . |
