|
|
Hello!
I own a 2007 2.0GHz Intel Mac Mini with OSX 10.5.8. I'm going to change my monitor (now I have a 19" LG) and I want to buy the LG IPS277L (27" 1920x1080), but this monitor doesn't have DVI input: just HDMI. So I have to buy a DVI-HDMI cable or adapter.
Reading the Mac Mini technical specifications (should be this http://support.apple.com/kb/SP7):
| Quote: | | DVI video output to support digital resolutions up to 1920 by 1200 pixels; supports 20-inch Apple Cinema Display and 23-inch Apple Cinema HD Display; supports coherent digital displays up to 154MHz; supports noncoherent digital displays up to 135MHz |
The monitor works at 1920x1080, but it's a 27" and I don't kwnow if it's coherent or not (or if that's important).
I've googled and read a lot of articles about problems with DVI-HDMI connection, and/or problem with HDCP compliance, but I didn't understand if it is a problem related only to 2011 Minis or not.
These are LG IPS277L tech info and manual:
http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-IPS235T-BN-led-monitor
http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-IPS235T-BN
What I should check or be aware of?
Are all the DVI-HDMI cable the same?
My fear is to have a too-old-Mini with a too-new-monitor!
Please help me!
Thanks!
=) |
