Hi,
I have an early 2009 mini that I have added a larger drive to when I first got it. The system has server me well, but it feels a little pokey. I really started to notice it after I upgraded my macbook with a Samsung 256 GB 830 SSD. I am wondering if I should do a similar upgrade to my mini, or look at a new unit.
I do primarily browsing, software development (iPad, iPhone) and watching videos.
Any thoughts? |

Just some rambling thoughts . . . A familiar crossroads for many. You probably want someone to tell you to buy a new mini I'll assume you spent around 200 USD for the new drive. A new entry level mini is 599 USD. Is it worth the 399 extra to you to upgrade? If the new SSD perked up your Macbook, which is probably similar in specs to your mini, it'll probably do the same for the mini. If you are happy with the performance of the macbook, you might be similarly pleased with the mini. Eventually, you will give in to temptation and buy a new mini anyway; then you'll have a SSD drive for it and can set up a fusion drive if you wish.

Any thoughts? | It seems you have the Apple itch to buy something. If you have the bread do if not don't. Simple solution. |
