Getting hot and overheating are two different things. Are you wondering why your mini doesn't shut down due to overheating? Which 2011 mini do you have? _________________ 2.0 GHz i7 Mini 8 GB RAM, OWC Merc Extreme SSD & Samsung Spinpoint

| it has to do with the fact the mini has a smaller nanometer processor so it doesnt generate heat like the regular nanometer version that ibm computers use |

He is referring to the size of the paths and devices in the design of the CPU. The smaller they are the less heat generated.
Otherwise, what are you doing to try and get it hot?

Get a utility like temperature monitor
http://www.bresink.com/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html
It will tell you the on chip temperature , hdd and motherboard temperature.
The on chip temp will tell you how effective is your cooling. It should be be below 55 degrees F.
If you want to see your Mini get hot do the following
1)Run an antivirus scan like Sophos or ClamAV and at the same time
2)Run a graphics benchmark like Unigine Heaven and turn on ALL the eye candy

+1.
That's a good one. I also like iStat Menus for monitoring temps and everything else.
