As a result of this topic

I've trying to get OpenDNS working on my machine linked to a propriety modem-router (Livebox2 ) of my ISP (Orange, in France).
Problem is: when using OpenDNS outgoing mail in Mail doesn't work anymore.
I found on the OpenDNS forum that I'm not the only one with this problem and have been on the Orange forum too - with no solutions so far.
I did find this solution for someone with the same problem but using Windows XP: http://forums.opendns.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=4835
But as a rather computer-illiterate person I don't known if and how that solution, involving 'nslook SMTP domain name' in Command and changes in Hosts file, can be done in OSX.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
PS: I'm just looking for getting OpenDNS working on my Macmini, so not touching the modem-router yet; if it works I'll probably do the same for the only other Mac(mini) in the house and not bother about changing DNS settings on the modem-router itself (which seems difficult if not impossible to do anyway) _________________ Mac Mini mid-2007 2GHz 2GB 120GB |

Yes, those commands/operations can be done in OS X.
However, I see you've decided to not use OpenDNS, but you can google for changing the host file, and there are plenty of guides available.
