I can't get my DualHead2Go to speak to my Mini. As soon as I boot, my monitors complain that the 'input is out of range.' I have installed SwithcResX and followed what instructions I could find, but no luck!
I am new to Apple computing and I thought I'd take the plunge by purchasing a (used) Mac Mini. Being a 'tinkerer' I upgraded the cpu from 1.86 to 2.33 GHz and upgraded the memory to 4Gb. So my Mini is now running OS X Lion. And rather nicely.
I am hoping that someone has my vintage of Mini and has overcome similar issues.
Before I added any software (PowerDesk or SwitchResX) I was able to get mirrored output on the two monitors and even a really ugly stretched display across both but now, alas, I get nothing.
I have been to the Matrox site and have spoken with Matrox support. The support person told me that he can't help me because the DualHead2go isn't compatible with my Intel 950 graphics card. However, there is evidence that people have got this running on a Mini of my vintage.
From the site I downloaded their PowerDesk Utility for Lion. I thought this might help but ..not so much. I runs but cannot connect to the DualHead2go. Reading through the posts here I saw a mention that this utility is for the 'digital' versions of DualHead2go and perhaps this is why the app isn't working.
I have uninstalled (as far as I know) the PowerDesk software.
I have tested multiple monitor configurations with SwitchResX but no luck.
Any thoughts? |
