Nice! I just fell in love with a 2009 Mac mini, but plan on getting one of these ones around Christmas.

I'm already jealous. I really want a Mac with USB 3 in the worst way.

I'm hoping they all have a dedicated GPU this time around. Even the server model. Having USB 3.0 connectivity should be killer too. Thunderbolt is great, but the devices just cost too much. USB 3.0 isn't nearly as fast, but it still gives you a nice increase over FW 800. Plus, the devices are way more affordable.

My guess is it will be similar to the laptops. Intel 4000 integrated for the base and server model. I just hope this time round that the model with dedicated graphics gets a quad core processor.

USB 3 will be nice for the common man. We sell nice LaCie USB 3 drives for $89

There are so many rumors about this event. New iMacs, Mac minis, iTunes 11, a 13" MacBook Pro with retina display, and last but not least the iPad mini. That just seems like an awful lot for one event. They could always just throw them up on the store. I don't think everything is coming or will be covered though.

That's me in a nutshell. Smile

And those are exactly the kind of drives that I am craving.

So if the rumors are true, I might try trading up Mac minis again. Only this time I am selling. My other Mac minis were always re-purposed. I didn't feel like giving them up.

I would also like the latest and greatest for Fusion and Windows 8.

It's going to be an exciting couple weeks here!

I just hope they retain the HDMI port on the back. I think it would be a mistake to dump it in favor of two Thunderbolt ports. As for the actual graphics card, I think it's going to be Intel HD 4000 across the entire lineup.

Bout time! I was so close to pulling the trigger a couple times, but I'm glad that I waited now. Are there any rumors beyond Ivy and USB 3 though?

My store takes trade ins. It's a big part of our business. Quite often its what keeps our customers shopping with us, instead of the Apple store.

We seldom get Mac minis. People really like to keep them. We will probably see more of them, now that Apple TV is so popular and can handle Airplay video mirroring with 2011 and newer Macs. I'm using a 1.83GHz C2D mini for essential what an Jailbroken Apple TV can do. I'd be better of selling it and buying another Apple TV.

Tomorrow, Oct 16 should be an exciting day. I except we Apple will send out media invites tomorrow.

I think it's going to be pretty obvious when they read: Come get you mini on!

Honestly, I can't wait to see the invite either. Apple can get clever with them (hint wise) from time to time. I thought the last invite for the iPhone 5 event was really cool.

I feel the same way. That being said, It makes sense for Apple to update everything before the holiday shopping season. It puts them in a much strong position. Plus, there is going to be a total Windows 8 onslaught in a couple weeks. With tablets, laptops, desktops, AIOs and hybrid machines - you name it.
