I caught the Shuttle being towed down the street on the news earlier and thought I'd root out my pic of the Shuttle when it visited Stansted Airport in the UK in 1983.
I went to Stansted secondary school and we were given the afternoon off to go and look at the shuttle. It was a ten minute walk and a quick hop over a two bar fence to get onto the airfield! (them was the days).

Very groovy! I remember watching all of the launches in the early days live on TV as a kid. I was lucky enough to catch the Endeavour on it's northern California tour...flew almost directly over my head.
