I have an Iomega minimax FW400 enclosure with original 250GB drive. I'd like to swap in a 1/1.5/2TB 7200 rpm drive to help the space and slowdown on my Core2Duo mini.
Does anyone know if there is a limit to the drive size in those older minimax FW400 enclosures? Positive reports if you've done it or advice also appreciated.
Thanks. |

If it's SATA then I would see if I could determine what it can handle. My JBoD sales/support said it can handle whatever size drives I can buy, but some systems are limited to 2 TB( or whatever).
If it's IDE/PATA, then I think IDE/PATA topped out at 750 GB. You might have trouble finding IDE/PATA drives these days that aren't covered in dust.

Make sure it has pins! |

Unfortunately it's UltraATA (PATA)
It seemed a good idea, but I guess I'll just get a new external drive ... |
