|
|
G'day,
I'm looking at replacing my old dome style Airport Extreme Base Station, and first generation Apple TV, with an early Intel Mac Mini (2006/7 era).
I know it will be a good AppleTV replacement... but not sure how it will go as a pseudo AEBS.
Has anyone used the Mini to share their internet connection wirelessly like this? Does it give good range? Any issues?
Greatly appreciate some advice on this.
Cheers

| You can share from Ethernet over Airport and it's easy to setup. My only issues were with range and security. I haven't looked in a while, but I think you are still limited to WEP. |

It works well, but you are limited to WEP like Ben Tex said. _________________ 2011 Mac mini with 8GB of RAM

Thanks for the replies.
Gave up and bought a 4th gen AEBS instead...
Will just look for a Mini down the track to replace the AppleTV. |
