Input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
Here is what I did:
- Pulled out the 1.5ghz core solo and put in a 2.33 Core 2 Duo.
- Put in two 2GB sticks. Mini didn't like it (I have to upgrade the firmware 1st).
- Replaced the two 2GB sticks with two 1GB sticks.
- Mini now turns on but SATA HD does not boot ("? folder").
- Booted Snow Leopard DVD without problem and Profiler recognizes 2GB RAM and 2.33Ghz Processor. Profiler, however, does not see a SATA hard drive attached.
- Installed different (brand now) SATA hard drive. Profiler still doesn't see hard drive.
In both cases I never heard either HD drive spin up, I understand though that the HD needs a bus signal and power to do so.
So the question is: What the heck could cause the mac mini to see the PATA Superdrive but not see the SATA hard drive?

| Bought a new interconnect board on eBay for $15. Fixed the problem. Seems the SATA connector might have gotten stressed. |
