|
|
I've recently acquired a PowerPC MacMini with 1GB of RAM- I believe it's G3.
I believe it has Tiger on it - but it's very slow
I just want to give it away to a relative to use as a basic machine for reading webpages, email and if at all possible YouTube.
Is there another Operating system out there that will run well on this kind of machine? |

You only have two choices - 10.4 and 10.5.
10.5 has better more software available.

A version of Linux might prove to be faster than OS X on an old PPC mini. However, you would be restricted to versions of Linux made to run on PPC hardware. Debian would probably be your best choice. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT
