|

I'm in Asia and finding suitable RAM is not easy over here, it's all PC stuff, and I know the G4 is very fussy over RAM.
Apple G4 Mac mini combo 1.25Ghz PowerPC M9686FE/B 512MB DDR SDRAM.
(The FE is Foreign Edition)
The current memory installed is:
DIMM0/J11:
Size: 512 MB
Type: DDR SDRAM
Speed: PC3200U-30330
And I'd love to get suitable 1GB RAM.
Anybody oblige, and post to me in a Jiffy bag by air mail.
I'll PayPal the funds before you dispatch it.
Used is okay as long as it is undamaged. |

Amazingly my 2005 Mac Mini is still running perfectly.
I'd love to get the correct 1GB of RAM to upgrade it though.
Anybody got a good used/new 1GB mac mini PPC RAM to sell or donate? |

Thank you I appreciate the link, that is the correct item for my mid-2005 PPC 1.25Ghz Mac mini and $30 icl. postage to me here in Asia.
However, local customs have a very nasty habit of holding packages to ransom until their randomly exorbitant "duties" are paid.
That is why I'd prefer to buy from somebody here who has the suitable RAM from when they upgraded further, and doesn't mind simply wrapping it in cardboard and popping it in the normal post in a small padded Jiffy bag.
Anybody got a stick of this stuff please....? |

But you can't upgrade further than the 1 GB, so nobody is gonna have a 1 GB DIMM laying around.

Good point Sir, but I have a feeling you are about to be proven wrong....
C'mon peeps!
Edit: Incidentally, it's refreshing to see like-minded souls stuck in G4 PPC with Tiger.
I haven't browsed these Forums for years, but I suspect I'm not alone in not even wanting to update from my G4. Mainly because I like it, and it does all I ask, but also because newer minis don't have a modem, and Apple don't make external modems. A modem is essential in Asia.
I've looked at post Tiger software, and there's honestly nothing in it I want or need. Tiger is quick and lean, I'll stick.
And finally, I examined a MacBook Pro 15" with Retina last week, expecting it to be as dramatic as the iPad3, but was most definitely under-whelmed.
I could only just distinguish the display from non-retina.
And the adjacent iMac 21" display seemed just as sharp as Retina.
I was most surprised, and a little pleased |
