| Apple's Trackpad works fine. I personally don't use it much as I like the magic mouse much better. |

I've had a track pad connected to my Mini for a long time now but I have to say I hardly ever use it. It works fine but my workflow has never switched to using it and I always go for the mouse and keyboard shortcuts first. _________________ Phil

Marv, some people love trackpads and swear by them. Other people dislike them. I think your carpel tunnel will decide for you. You really have to just give it a try.
You will have much more flexibility in how you use the trackpad, so that should be a big benefit. Ie. index finger, middle finger, gestures, swipes. If I recall correctly I even tried using a stylus with a trackpad and it worked. |

I use the Magic Trackpad daily, I do not own a Magic Mouse so it's the only way I control my 2011 mini!
I must say I love it! Works great. Mind you I have only been a mac user for 2 months so I'm no pro, however I do constantly use the mini for almost everything I do! No regrets choosing the MTP over the Magic Mouse.

I have a MTP on my 2911 mini, it works fine but tends to hurt my wrist to use it so I went back to my Mighty Mouse. _________________ Mac Mini 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM 500GB HD

|

My experience is the opposite from marv777 and caulktel.
I have severe arthritis in both hands and a mouse isn't
possible for me so I've used a Track Ball for years. When
the MTP was released I bought it. I like it so much
I now use both the MTP and my favorite Track Ball.
Some things are easier with the MTP and other things
are easier with the Track Ball.
One problem I had with the MTP constantly disconnecting
was solved by using Lithium AA Batteries. So, if you get a
MTP and it is finicky and disconnets, try AA Lithium Batteries. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

Lithium Batteries are very expensive. However
if you shop around you can usually find them
for around a $1.00 a battery in a two or four
pack. Remember that AA Lithuim Batteries
far outlast any other type of AA Battery thats
available. I expect the Lithium batteries in my
Magic Track Pad to last something like
a year with over 16 hours a day of use.
So, Lithium Batteries are expensive but if
bought wisely their a great value.
BTW, the reason, I believe that the Lithium
Batteries don't disconnect is because they
run at a higher voltage and they maintain
that higher voltage for a much longer period
of time than any other Battery. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

WOW, two months, I wouldn't want your friends luck.
He may have bought very old Lithium batteries and
had no way of knowing it. One of the great things
about Lithium Battteries is they maintain more of their
charge than other batteries then quickly die near the
end. Because of that they usually test well but may
not be. Lithium Batteries are also great to use in
Electronic Flash units for cameras. Faster recycle
times and they simply last longer than other Batteries.
The down side is they can be very expensive. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with
