Tuesday, July 24, 2012
Posted by: Staff
Tim Cook has announced via Apple's third quarter earnings release that OS X Mountain Lion will be launching tomorrow.
"We're thrilled with record sales of 17 million iPads in the June quarter," said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. "We've also just updated the entire MacBook line, will release Mountain Lion tomorrow and will be launching iOS 6 this Fall. We are also really looking forward to the amazing new products we've got in the pipeline."
Mountain Lion is priced at $19.99 and will be available on the Mac App Store.

| I'll probably wait a couple days to upgrade, but I'm really excited about getting my hands on the new cat. I was never really happy with Lion and its little quirks here and there. |

| I will be upgrading even though I can't use some of the features. Maybe if I have enough money this year I will upgrade my mini. |

I'm thinking it will be early in the morning after they take the Apple Store offline to update product descriptions and stuff. So my guess would be around 9-10am. If not then, probably early afternoon. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

I'll be downloading it as well. I'll be cloning my hard drive tonight.
I don't have a machine new enough to support AirPlay mirroring. I'm already using the beta version of iMessage, so this is definitely an app that I will be using. |

What exactly are the system requirements for AirPlay mirroring?
I can't wait to install either because I'm a total new OS junkie. Heck, I'm even looking forward to installing Windows 8 on my MBP.
I think the notification center is the feature that I'm most looking forward to using. I also might find my way back to using Safari with the unified search bar. As long as the performance is on par with Chrome. I'm also looking forward to giving the Dictation feature a try. Even though my past experiences with voice dictation have been far from being perfect. |

Cool. I hope it's made available overnight so I can install before leaving to work - that way I can show people at work how cool it is |

I'm just glad they didn't name it Nittany Lion.
I just hope all goes well with the update. This will be my first Mac operating system update through the Mac App Store. I've always done clean installs with the DVD in the past. |

At the pace they're going we'll be on "Felis Catus" within the next decade or two. |

There probably won't even be an OS X in a decade. It will simply be called iOS. I do like Wildcat though. |
