Be careful if you decide to jailbreak your phone

no i will not tell you how or where to get the stuff to do this be far warned that the jailbreak for 5.0.1 is in beta form and will and does disable your sim card if not carefully done you can also corrupt the iPhone which is what apple is currently detecting when people come in with there phones to get fix.

this has to do with the new firmware update sending new dd callouts to cell phone towers when the new callouts are not recognized 5.0.1 shuts off the sim card

I have no plans on jailbreaking my new iPhone. I do plan on getting it jailbroken after a year when its warranty expires and I could be ready for an upgrade or something. But thanks for the post though.

No actually they didn't understand the protocols the jailbreakers that is and when they tried it they only tried it for 24 hours when after 30 hours the signal gets sent and the kill code to the sim card happens this has however been fix in the 5.1.1 update but when jailbreaking it at&t and other cell phone manufactures have said they will start blacklisting phones caught using cydia

You know what? This has been the focus of our discussion in the office! Lol. A number of my colleagues have jailbroken iPhones and they got a little curious and at the same time worried because of the news that you have shared. Actually, if this beta thingy becomes something that's default then it is therefore a warning to those jailbreakers and soon to be ones. Getting blacklisted because of jailbreaking...

but you do notice that this covers people that don't read the directions and the other thing is that they also dont notice it's a beta when it says beta you can end up with firmware corruption because it isnt finalized

Yep, a test or something. If it is finalized then it surely is a big problem for those who are die-hard jailbreakers! It's sad that if this happens, a user may not be able to be free on whatever he wanted to do with his device.

Jailbreaking has it's own disadvantages in a way, but let's admit it jealbreaking our phone is way better since we can customize it and use third party apps and so on.
